First off I’d like to say this is a great site you’ve got here! Very clear layout and I love your search functionalities.

What’s throwing me for a loop is the discrepancy between the commission details page that the beginner’s guides link to and the FAQ. One says fees are $10 + 7% and $10 + 5% for auctions and shops respectively and the other $10 + 10% and $10 + 8%. I’m hoping the commission details page has the right information as that’ll be better for us customers but I just want to make sure :P

Thank you very much for the compliments!  We are still young and growing and hope to implement even more improvements in the coming months.

In regards to your question, I’m very sorry for the confusion.  They are actually both accurate, but the FAQ needs to be updated to show that the commission is reduced by 3% if paying by PayPal direct funds (since in that case there is no credit card processing).

If you pay with PayPal direct funds, the commission is 7% for auctions and 5% for store orders.

If you are paying with a credit card through our site, the commission is 10% for auctions and 8% for store orders.

And another thing, how are you guys receiving payments, in USD or Yen? I think it would be a good idea to put that in the FAQ and state the PayPal conversion rate as part of the full cost for people who don’t have funds in those currencies. The more transparent your service is, the more customers trust and are willing to frequent here right? I know I would appreciate the reminder when I’m trying to calculate the full cost of my purchase, being a PayPal newbie.

yaluen, thank you very much for the valuable suggestions!  We will implement them as soon as possible, and will most likely be switching out the current currency exchange tool for one based on our actual rate.

It is also in our plans to include a convenient “total cost calculator” tool that will be easily accessible on the bidding toolbar, so hopefully that’ll come in handy in the future!
