Does the auction work like ebay with automatic bidding. If I place a maximum bid does the price go up in smaller amounts so that I could end paying less than my maximum bid amount if I win the auction.

Exactly, just like eBay or the old American version of Yahoo! Auction, you submit your max bid, and if the auction ends under that, you just pay whatever the actual ending amount (plus the associated fees).

My main complaint (which will apparently be addressed in the new site remodel) is that, win or lose, all of your bids just pile up on your Bids page and you can’t clear them out.
